So Much To “Prove” At Saratoga (9/7/20)

Sep 7th, 2020 | By | Category: Saratoga, Today's Picks

Fast and firm for closing day at The Spa — a 14-race marathon that features a major battle between training titans Todd Pletcher and Chad Brown, plus a nail biter in the jockey race between the Ortiz brothers.  All their horses are live in their attempt to win the their respective titles, but if you can beat them in a given race, you will be rewarded with a great price, so play accordingly!

In race 12,  Proven Strategies (#7) goes for Mark Casse who is 1 for 41 at the meet, but Luis Saez on a speed horse without much pace has been a recipe for success, so don’t be talked off this one at a price.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 8 and 9.

In race 8, Ballagh Rocks (#4) has back class and should sit a perfect stalking trip behind a moderate pace and have a chance to run down the leaders late at a nice price — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 2 and 1.

In race 9, Team Merchants (#6) middle moved in a race with the most promising 2-year old dirt horse at the meet and any improvement in second start with get him to the winner’s circle — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 4 and 3.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

“He’s The One” At Saratoga (9/6/20)

Sep 6th, 2020 | By | Category: Saratoga, Today's Picks

Fast and firm for the excellent Sunday card — 2 days left in the meet and I can honestly say I am ready for them to come home!  Finally had a good day on best bets yesterday with 2 out of 3 finding the winner’s circle, including one at $15.20, so I will try and keep it up today.

In race 8, Tiz He the One (#5) stumbled badly at the start in last and then made a wide move on the turn to reach contention and couldn’t sustain his bid — a better post and trip with a decent pace and he will find the winner’s circle today!  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 4 and 3.

In race 12, Leeway (#2) had a tough start in last and had no running room at all in the stretch, so willing to forgive and he obviously will be more fit in second start off the layoff — key in all late multi-race wagers and play an exacta box with #’s 3 and 10.

Here’s the entire card and good luck!  I wouldn’t be surprised if Irad and Jose Ortiz win 8 races between them today — they are both riding for the title and are live in every race!

Race 1: 5, 3 and 2

Race 2: 10 (Best Bet) with 5 and 1

Race 3: 2 with 4 and 3
