Take The “Blame” At Keeneland (10/31)

Oct 31st, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Keeneland, Today’s Picks

Rainy and off the turf at Keeneland on Halloween.  But there should be no tricks and only treats if you take Blame (#9) in race 9, The Grade 2 Fayette.  This lightly raced 3 year old has tremendous upside and can run down the leaders late in this 1 1/8th contest.  I’ll play an exacta box with  and Parading (#3) and key in doubles and pick 3’s.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6, 8 and 4

Race 2: 5, 1 and 6

Race 3: 9, 10 and 11

Race 4: 4 and 8

Race 5: 3, 4 and 10

Race 6: 1 and 8

Race 7: 1 (Best Bet)

Race 8: 3, 2 and 10

Putting A Winning Strategy In “Motion” At Keeneland (10/25)

Oct 25th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Keeneland, Today’s Picks

Fast and yielding at Keeneland with a huge pick 6 up for grabs as the races continue to be impossible to handicap   Only  3 winners listed yesterday, 1 on top, and all my best bets lost.  Will try to be better today!

In race 8, Graham Motion sends out Caprice (#2) in this 1 1/2 marathon on the turf.  In a race devoid of any early speed, Caprice may hold a tactical advantage over Black Mamba (#11) and Winter View (#1) and is my pick to hold off the closers in the stretch.  I’m keying in doubles and pick 3’s and playing an exacta box with the others mentioned.

In race 4, Eighteenthofmarch (#5) handles turf or synthetic surfaces and trainer Wayne Catalano is due for some luck.  I’m keying in doubles and pick 3’s with Richland Creek (#2) and playing an exacta box.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 4 and 7

Race 2: 5 and 1

Race 3: 11 and 7

Race 4: 5 (Best Bet) and 2

Race 5: 11 with 2 and 6

Race 6: 3 and 4

Race 7: 7, 6 and 11

Race 8: 2 (Best Bet) with 1 and 11

Race 9: 5, 8 and 10

“Six” Is The “Pick” At Keeneland (10/24)

Oct 24th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Keeneland, Today’s Picks

Fast and yielding at Keeneland on Saturday with the usual big fields, longshot contenders and unpredictable form — but that what makes handicapping so much fun.  In race 8, a competitive mile on the turf, Pick Six(#3) likes the distance, a soft course and gets some class relief today.  I’m playing him in doubles and pick 3’s and also using Antrim County (#8) in exactas with the choice.

In race 9, The Raven Run, Sky Haven (#11) can get a nice stalking trip and score at a decent price in another competitive field.  I’m playing her in doubles and pick 3’s and in an exacta box with Just Jenda (#2) and Flashing (#8).

In race 10, Grassy Nellie (#11) loves a soft turf course and can get 1 1/8 miles — great opportunity to cap the pick 3 and late double.  I’m also playing an exacta box with Magical Theatre (#8) and Prytania (#5).  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 8, 5 and 4

Race 2: 8, 3 and 1

Race 3: 1, 7 and 2

Race 4: 6, 9 and 4

Race 5: 2 and 3

Race 6: 2, 10 and 8

Race 7: 2, 4 and 6

Race 8: 3 (Best Bet) and 8

Race 9: 11 (Best Bet) with 2 and 8

Race 10: 11 (Best Bet) with 8 and 5

Oct 18th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Keeneland, Today’s Picks

Fast and yielding at Keeneland where full fields and great challenges await all handicappers!  In race 5, Radical Fringe (#3) is second off the layoff and has the right stalking style to run down the speed at 6 furlongs. I’m keying in doubles and pick 3’s and playing an exacta box with Cya Later Bert (#2) and My Best Pal Red (#7).

In race 6, a 1 1/2 mile marathonon turf, Shake The Moon (#7) towers over these on paper and should win as the favorite.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3’s.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!
