Feeling “Restless” On Day 1 Of Breeders Cup At Churchill (11/2/18)

Nov 2nd, 2018 | By | Category: Breeders Cup, Churchill, Today's Picks

Good and yielding for Future Stars Friday at The Breeders Cup — Churchill Downs has been good to me in the past, so I am optimistic about the next two days, but the turf course took a lot of rain over the last two days so it’s hard to say who will like the going.  Also, there was a clear speed bias yesterday on the main track, but a drying out track today may be a different story so pay attention to changing track conditions.

In race 7, The Grade 1 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies, Restless Rider (#4) loves Churchill and should benefit from all speed and another two-turn affair to run these down from a perfect stalking position — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 10 and 5.

In race 6, The Grade 1 Juvenile Fillies Turf, Concrete Rose (#1) got the cozy rail, has positional speed to sit a good trip and will be a much better price than she should be because of the Chad Brown heavy favorite — may be this good.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 6 and 5.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6, 5 and 3

Race 2: 8, 9 and 2

Race 3: 6, 4 and 2

Race 4: 8, 3 and 2

Race 5: 8, 4 and 5

Race 7: 4 (Best Bet) with 10 and 5

Race 8: 4, 6 and 12

Race 9: 1, 6 and 9

Race 10: 10 (Best Bet) with 7 and 2

“Lewis” Makes Me Smile On Derby Day At Churchill (5/5/18)

May 5th, 2018 | By | Category: Churchill, Today's Picks, Triple Crown

Fast and firm for the great 14 race Derby card, but there are showers in the forecast so beware of changes in track conditions (especially if any races are taken off the turf).  A very good day yesterday with 5 winners on top (including a $26.20 best bet) which made overall win bets and best bets very profitable.  Had a nice run of 3 huge pick 3′s from races 4-8, so I will try and keep up the momentum today.

In race 6, The Grade 1 Humana Distaff, Lewis Bay (#5) probably needed last when beaten by the #1, but will sit a perfect trip here right behind a speed duel and some moisture in the track will even help — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 1 and 4.

In race 10, The Grade 3 Pat Day Mile, Restoring Hope (#12) cuts back and may be best as a one turn closer in a race packed with speed — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 5 and 8.

In race 12, The Grade 1 Kentucky Derby, my betting strategy is the same — find two horses to key on top with 5 horses underneath in all exotic wagers.  While Justify (#7) is a worthy favorite and should get a good trip, he is lightly raced and may have more speed to battle today which is why I like both Bolt d’Oro (#11) and Audible (#5) on top because they both have decent positional speed if needed and should have dead aim in the stretch if good enough.  Hofburg (#9) is my long shot play to hit the board with a late run for Mott who is very high on this horse.  The play is #11 and #5 on top with 6,7,9 and 18 in the exotics.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6, 8 and 5

Race 2: 2, 5 and 1

Race 3: 6 (Best Bet) with 4 and 5

Race 4: 9 with 3 and 2

Race 5: 5 with 8 and 9

Race 6: 5 (Best Bet) with 1 and 4

Race 7: 2, 6 and 1

Race 8: 7 (Best Bet) with 10 and 3

Race 9: 9, 10 and 11

Race 10: 12 (Best Bet) with 5 and 8

Race 11: 1 (Best Bet) with 3 and 7

Race 12: 11 & 5 with 6, 7, 9 and 18

Race 13: 6, 5 and 3

Race 14: 8, 6 and 7

A “Delectable” Oaks Card At Churchill (5/4/18)

May 4th, 2018 | By | Category: Churchill, Today's Picks

Fast and firm for the great 13 race Oaks Card at Churchill — what a fantastic way to start Kentucky Derby weekend, but watch for any showers that could affect the track!

In race 7, The Grade 3 Turf Sprint, Delectation (#1) faces the boys and draws a tough post in a 5 furlong sprint, but has faced grade 1 animals and has won both turf sprint starts  — working well and Ward usually means business off layoffs.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 10 and 7.

In race 4, Galton (#8) gets major class relief here and his best races can win this with Ortiz jumping on — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 1 and 11.

In race 11, The grade 1 Kentucky Oaks, My Miss Lilly (#11) is improving rapidly and can spring upset with another step forward — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 10 and 14.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6 (Best Bet) with 4 and 1

Race 2: 2, 3 and 7

Race 3: 1, 6 and 10

Oct 29th, 2017 | By | Category: Churchill, Today's Picks

Fast but off the turf for opening day at Churchill – I have been on a hot streak lately so I thought I would try and stay sharp and handicap here since Belmont has cancelled, so let’s see how I do.

In race 10, Bravazo (#6) has already won here at a mile and just ran second to a colt who may win the BC Juvenile — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 9 and 8.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 3 (Best Bet) with 4 and 6

Race 2: 10 (Best Bet) with 4 and 1

Race 3: 2, 9 and 12
