It’s A “Circus” At The Breeders Cup (11/2/19)

Oct 30th, 2019 | By | Category: Breeders Cup, Today's Picks

Looks like it will be fast and firm for BC Classic Day at Santa Anita — handicapping early because I am traveling so I am without information on any track biases, so please adjust your handicapping to suit the conditions.  I hope that both the dirt and turf courses will be playing fair, but I won’t be surprised if the main track may be favoring speed, but I always hope if the pace is fast, closers will have a chance, so let’s see how I do!  Unlike Friday’s picks, I predict the Euros will have a big part in the proceedings!

In race 9, The Grade 1 BC Turf Mile, Circus Maximus (#9) should have a tactical advantage being close up to the lead in a race without much pace on paper and be able to hold off Uni (#11) who would have been my pick if the pace was fast — connections know how to win BC races!  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 11 and 6.

In race 10, The Grade 1 BC Distaff. Blue Prize (#11) is in career form and in a race that should fall apart late should run these down and beat Midnight Bisou who will be a very short price and could be due for a bounce after several tough races — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 4 and 1.

In race 12, The Grade 1 BC Classic, Yoshida (#5) could be compromised by a moderate pace and a track that may favor speed, but my gut tells me that the pace might be faster than expected and McKenzie will take way too much money, so if I can get 5-1 on Yoshida, I will gladly take the chance!  Key in all late multi-race wagers and play an exacta box with #’s 10 and 8.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 4, 3 and 8

Race 2: 4, 1 and 3

Race 3: 11, 8 and 1

A “British” Invasion At The Breeders Cup (11/1/19)

Oct 29th, 2019 | By | Category: Breeders Cup, Today's Picks

Looks like fast and firm for day 1 of the Breeders Cup at Santa Anita — I am posting early because I will be traveling and wanted to handicap early.  Please keep track of any track bias by watching Thursday’s card closely, but a speed favoring dirt track and a fair turf course seem to be a distinct possibility given what we already know and local horses may have an advantage to shippers because not all horses like the Santa Anita surface.  Have a feeling the Euros won’t be a big factor, but I have been wrong before, so let’s see how I do.

In race 7, The Grade 1 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies, British Idiom (#4) is trained by the next big thing in racing, Brad Cox, who got his first BC win last year with Monomoy Girl, and is live with several mounts here, including this filly who stalked and demolished a quality field in the Grade 1 Alcibiades and should get a very contested pace to set up a perfect trip right behind leaders — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 6 and 1.

In race 5, The Grade 2 Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf, Four Wheel Drive (#9) has done nothing wrong in 2 starts for the best 2-year old turf sprint trainer in the country and may be a special one — take 2-1 in a big field and be happy!  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 10 and 7.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6, 1 and 5

Race 2: 10, 1 and 5

Race 3: 11 (Best Bet) with 8 and 12

Race 4: 7, 11 and 2

Race 5: 9 (Best Bet) with 10 and 7

Race 6: 2 (Best Bet) with 7 and 1

Race 7: 4 (Best Bet) with 6 and 1

Race 8: 5, 7 and 12

Race 9: 1, 6 and 5

Race 10: 8, 13 and 1

Making “Hay” At Belmont (10/27/19)

Oct 27th, 2019 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Sloppy and off the turf for closing day — a slew of scratches to end the meet and ruin the card, so let’s get past today and move on to the Breeders Cup next Friday!

In race 6, Hay Field (#3) hasn’t won this year, but loves an off track and should sit a good trip behind the speed and run these down late — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 6 and 5.

In race 7, Pink Sands (#4) cuts back to best distance and should like it wet — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 6 and 5.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 14, 15 and 10

Race 2: 9, 8 and 5

Race 3: 3, 7 and 6

Race 4: 1, 3 and 13

Race 5: 4, 2 and 6

Race 6: 3 (Best Bet) with 6 and 5

Race 7: 4 (Best bet) with 6 and 5

Race 8: 7, 11 and 13

Race 9: 7, 6 and 1

You Go “Girlfriend” At Keeneland (10/26/19)

Oct 26th, 2019 | By | Category: Keeneland, Today's Picks

Sloppy and off the turf for the final day of the Fall Meet — great racing that challenges handicappers everywhere!  Listed 2 winners on top yesterday, but didn’t hit at a high percentage for the meet — had 5 exacta boxes and a $359 pick 3 in the middle of the card, so there is always money to be made if you play correctly!

In race 6, Girlfriend Rocket (#6) had tough trip on turf in last and should relish a wet track — repeat of Saratoga race gets the money here at a decent price.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 3 and 9.

In race 8, Uber Kirk (#9) gets a fast pace to set up late run and figure in slop race points him out — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 7 and 4.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6, 5 and 2

Race 2: 3, 2 and 7

Race 3: 2, 5 and 1

Race 4: 5, 9 and 3

Race 5: 4, 3 and 9

Race 6: 6 (Best Bet) with 3 and 9

Race 7: 7, 8 and 2

Race 8: 9 (Best bet) with 7 and 4

Race 9: 8, 3 and 6
