Hoping For A “Big Score” At The Breeder’s Cup (11/4/16)

Fast and firm for day 1 of the Breeder’s Cup at Santa Anita.  I haven’t been so excited in a long time, because so many horses opted for their second choices, so there is intrigue in race after race.  Let’s hope there is no pronounced speed bias and that the track is kind so runners can win from anywhere on the track.  Keep your options open if a bias does appear and make sure you have a key horse in one or two races so you can single and then spread more in other races.  You should also try and beat a couple of the big favorites over the next two days — I think Songbird is the most likely beaten favorite and maybe Tepin — so let’s see how things play out!

In race 6, The Grade 1 Juvenile Turf, Big Score (#6) looked great in big win here in last and got a top figure — Euros not all that impressive in here and the race flow should favor closers.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 11 and 1.

In race 7, The Grade 1 Dirt Mile, Gun Runner (#9) has tricky post, but should sit about 5 lengths off a very fast pact set by Run Happy (#7) and Dortmund (#3) and have enough bottom on the cut back to run them down late at a decent price.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 9 and 3.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1:  8, 6 and 5

Race 2: 3, 12 and 5

Race 3: 8, 4 and 1

Race 4: 6,8 and 3

Race 5: 9, 8 and 4

Race 6: 6 (Best Bet) with 11 and 1

Race 7: 9 (Best Bet) with 8 and 3

Race 8: 3, 14 and 1

Race 9: 6, 5 and 8

Race 10: 4, 5 and 1
