“Green” Is Money At Keeneland (10/31/15)

Oct 31st, 2015 | By | Category: Breeders Cup, Keeneland, Today's Picks

Fast and good for Breeders Cup Classic Day at Keeneland.  Only one winner on top on day 1, but my top choices ran second 3 times, including a tough beat with my best bet in race 6.  I did tout Casse’s horses and they both ran great.  Let’s see if I can have a better day and pick a few winners.

In race 9, The Grade 1 Breeders Cup Juvenile, Greenpoint Crusader (#3) goes for a low profile trainer, but this 2-year old may be the best of his generation by far given his great performance in the Champagne and should handle two turns just fine and run down the speed — I will be happy with 3-1.  Key in all doubles, pick 3′s and pick 4′s and play an exacta box with #’s 5 and 1.

In race 4, The Grade 1 Breeders Cup Turf Sprint, No Silent (#9) has been a new animal after being gelded 3 races back and has the perfect running style to sit a great trip here and will be a great price — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 3 and 11.

In race 7, The Grade 1 Breeders Cup Sprint, Salutos Amigos (#10) came to life in The Vosburgh and has the right style to come and get these late at a big price — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 13 annd 5.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 2 with 9 and  8

Race 2:  5, 10 and 4

Race 3: 2, 7 and 9

Race 4: 9 (Best Bet) with 3 and 11

Race 5: 2 with 5 and 14

Race 6: 5, 3 and 12

Race 7: 10 (Best Bet) with 13 and 5

Race 8: 10, 4 and 1

“Chatterbox” Speaks Loudly At Keeneland (10/30/15)

Oct 29th, 2015 | By | Category: Breeders Cup, Keeneland, Today's Picks

Fast and yielding for day 1 of the Breeders Cup at Keeneland — a very competitive card from top to bottom, including the first 4 BC races, so see how a drying out main track and turf course are playing and play accordingly.

In race 9, The Grade 1 BC Distaff, I’m a Chatterbox (#1) gets perfect stalking post in a race filled with speed and may sit the trip at a price and outfinish these if trouble free — key in all doubles, pick 3′s and pick 4 and play an exacta box with #’s 12 and 7.  My original choice, Sheer Drama (#14) is marooned way on the outside and if she wins from here, she beats me!

In race 6, The Grade 1 BC Juvenile Turf, Airoforce (#8) took last when wide all the way and on this turf course — has leading connections at the meet and will be 3-1 or higher.  Key in all doubles, pick 3′s and pick 4 and play an exacta box with #’s 2 and 7.

In race 7, The Grade 1 BC Dirt Mile, Lea (#5) has faced monsters in handicap division on dirt and was supposed to race in the Turf Mile on Saturday, but seemingly found a better spot for Mott who knows how to place them — Liam’s Map (#3) is the best horse, but may be compromised by a fast pace and will be a very short price, so why not try and beat with a quality animal like Lea.

In race 8, The Grade 1 BC Juvenile Fillies Turf, Sapphire Kitten (#7) did everything but get unsaddled in last turf stake at Keeneland — can turn the tables on Harmonize (#8) and will be a much bigger price.  Key in all doubles, pick 3′s and pick 4 and play an exacta box with #’s4 and 8.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 3, 6 and 5

Race 2: 5 with 6 and 7

Race 3: 4, 6 and 7

Race 4: 9, 8 and 3

Race 5: 5, 6 and 9

Race 6: 8 (Best Bet) with 2 and 7

Race 7: 5 with 1 and 3

Race 8: 7 with 4 and 8

Race 9: 1 (Best Bet) with 12 and 7

Race 10: 13, 9 and 4

“Broken” Can Fix Things At Belmont (10/25/15)

Oct 25th, 2015 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and firm for the Sunday card — it was a very exciting NY Showcase Day and I did have 3 winners on top, including a best bet, but I always felt it wasn’t a great handicapping day, so let’s see if I can forget about the Breeders Cup long enough to concentrate on today’s card!

In race 9, Broken Border (#5) gets a fast pace and should close late at a decent price — key in all late multi-race wagers and play an exacta box with #’s 6 and 10.

In race 5, Colonel Juanita (#6) could be the speed of these and will get a perfect trip — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta  box with #’s 5 and 2.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 4, 5 and 6

Race 2: 3, 2 and 1

Race 3: 5 with 2 and 4

Race 4: 11, 9 and 10

Race 5: 6 (Best Bet) with 5 and 2

Race 6: 7, 8 and 2

Race 7: 6 with 8 and 2

Race 8: 5, 1 and 7

Race 9: 5 (Best Bet) with 6 and 10

Fast and firm for NY Showcase Day at Belmont — some great horses and intense rivalries on tap, so let’s see how I do today!

In race 5, The Empire Classic, Empire Dreams (#8) returns to favorite track and should get a much faster pace to set up late run and likes one turn — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 3 and 5.

In race 3, Noble Cornerstone (#7) loves Belmont and will be a great price since Palace (#9) stays here instead of going to the Breeders Cup — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 1 and 9.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6, 10 and 2

Race 2: 1 with 4 and 9
