My “Vision” Is “Perfect” At Belmont (9/28/14)

Sep 28th, 2014 | By | Category: Today's Picks

Fast and firm for the Sunday card — had an interesting day on Super Saturday without much luck on the win end.  Only picked 1 winner on top, but I listed the pick 4 which paid over $5500, so it wasn’t without it’s highlights!  Let’s see how I do today!

In race 9, The Grade 3 Pilgrim, Vision Perfect (#1) is the only runner to win locally at Belmont and has done little wrong in 2 starts.  Doesn’t have the top figures but gets cozy inside post and will be a big price.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 2 and 8.

In race 8, Quick Money (#10) ran too good to lose at 7 furlongs here in June and a flat mile may be exactly what the doctor ordered with a nice stalking trip and the best numbers.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 4 and 3.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 7, 3 and 2

Race 2: 6, 9 and 3

Race 3: 1, 4 and 6

Race 4: 1, 5 and 7

Race 5: 8, 1 and 4

Race 6: 3, 2 and 7

Race 7: 9, 6 and 1

Race 8: 10 (Best Bet) with 4 and 3

Race 9: 1 (Best Bet) with 2 and 8

Race 10: 10, 9 and 5

“Fifty” Ways To Win At Belmont (9/27/14)

Sep 27th, 2014 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and firm at Belmont for the Super Saturday card — a great day for NY racing and a very important stepping stone for many of these planning on running in the Breeders Cup!  Difficult card to handicap with 11 competitive races on tap, so let’s see how I do today!

In race 5, The Grade 1 Beldame, Fiftyshadesof hay (#5) will appreciate the one turn configuration of Belmont at this 1 1/8 distance and should get a great trip on or just off a moderate pace — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 4 and 7.

In race 8, the Grade 1 Vosburgh, Salutos Amigos (#4) had to chase in last against lone speed and now can sit back and make one run at a price — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 7 and 1.

In race 4, The Grade 2 Kelso, Golden Ticket (#2) wants a one turn mile and gets a fast pace to close into — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 3 and 7.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 2B, 3 and 7

Race 2: 5, 8 and 6

Race 3: 3, 7 and 6

Race 4: 2 (Best Bet) with 3 and 7

Race 5: 5 (Best Bet) with 4 and 7

Race 6: 3 with 12 and 4

Race 7: 6, 8 and 1

Race 8: 4 (Best Bet) with 7 and 1

Race 9: 3, 5 and 2

Race 10: 4, 3 and 11

Race 11: 5, 4 and 8

“Lawyer” Can Win At Belmont (9/21/14)

Sep 21st, 2014 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Muddy and yielding for the Sunday card with race 5 off the turf.  The weather should be ok today so look for the main track to be fast at some point.  Glad to be only handicapping Belmont today — I was very disappointed with the Parx card yesterday because a pronounced speed bias made my picks ineffective since I was looking for closers in races packed with speed.  I hope that great days of racing in the future aren’t spoiled because they decide to soup up the tracks on big days (are you listening in Breeders Cup land at Santa Anita!).  Anyway, let’s see how I do today.

In race 8, Lawyer Jim (#5) will appreciate coming back to Belmont and has the numbers to beat this kind — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 6 and 1.

In race 9, Missy Bay (#7) has run well on local turf and may get a decent pace to set up late run — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 8 and 1.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 2, 1 and 8

Race 2: 1, 4 and 5

Race 3: 5, 1 and 4

Race 4: 1 and 6

Race 5: 1, 13 and 5

Race 6: 1, 5 and 9

Race 7: 3, 8 and 4

Race 8: 5 (Best Bet) with 6 and 1

Race 9: 7 (Best Bet) 8 and 1

Race 10: 3, 1 and 8

A “Will Win” Moment At Belmont (9/20/14)

Sep 20th, 2014 | By | Category: Today's Picks

Fast and firm for the Saturday card — have been doing ok in the last few weeks, so let’s see if I can pick it up today.

In race 8, The Grade 2 Gallant Bloom, Willet (#5) will never get a better pace set up and will be a decent price — call to post minor upset if he breaks well.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 1 and 2.

In race 5, Cheyenne Nation (#5) drops trying to score and gets a good pace set up to win this — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 4 and 6.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 5, 2 and 3

Race 2: 6, 5 and 3

Race 3: 8, 4 and 3

Race 4: 6, 3 and 2

Race 5: 5 (Best bet) with 4 and 6

Race 6: 6, 2 and 10

Race 7: 5, 3 and 6

Race 8: 5 (Best Bet) with 1 and 2

Race 9: 2, 9 and 8

Race 10: 9, 6 and 4
