“La La La La La…” All The Way To Saratoga (7/30/14)

Jul 30th, 2014 | By | Category: Saratoga, Today's Picks

Fast and good for the Wednesday card — it’s the first of many winning days now that I’m here at Saratoga!  Had a great night last night with a dinner cruise on the lake courtesy of Scott and Layni Rothbort, so I am rested and ready to go today.  Keep in mind that this is a very difficult card today and the turf course is not firm which may favor closers today, so play accordingly!

In race 8, La Mandrina (#6) has run well in both starts and can run down the speed late with a good outside trip — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 10 and 4.

In race 9, The Coronation Cup, Scatcapade (#5) cuts back and may need more ground, but the race is loaded with speed and the non-firm turf may move him up at a price — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 7 and 10.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 5, 1A and 4

Race 2: 4, 6 and 3

Race 3: 2 and 4

Race 4: 3, 2 and 4

Race 5: 8, 6 and 7

Race 6: 5 with 1 and 8

Race 7: 7, 4 aqnd 3

Race 8: 6 (Best Bet) with 10 and 4

Race 9: 5 (Best Bet) with 7 and 10

Race 10: 4, 7 and 12

One more thing — Scott has a horse running at Saratoga Harness tonight in the second race names Another Delight (#6).  Only her 3rd outing, but we have high hopes, so please wish us luck!

Taking Saratoga By “Force” (7/27/14)

Jul 27th, 2014 | By | Category: Saratoga, Today's Picks

Muddy and off the turf for the Sunday card — not the first time Mother Nature has decimated a weekend card during the meet.  Not very excited about what’s left, but I will give it my best.  By the way, I’ve postponed my trip to The Spa until Wednesday since Monday looks like a monsoon!  Assume there will be no turf racing tomorrow as well!

In race 8, Ground Force (#1A) heads powerful entry and will love the off track — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #2.

In race 10, Canal Six (#7) happy this race got rained off and will like 1 1/8 miles on a wet track — key in all late multi-race wagers and play an exacta box with #’s 14 and 15.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 2 and 1

Race 2: 7 and 8

Race 3: 3, 6 and 5

Race 4: 5, 6 and 12

Race 5: 8, 5 and 13

Race 6: 6, 5 and 4

Race 7: 2, 11 and 13

Race 8: 1A (Best Bet) and 2

Race 9: 3 and 2

Race 10: 7 (Best Bet) with 14 and 15

Fast and firm for the Haskell Day card, but there’s rain in the forecast so watch the skies and see if track conditions change.  Headed to Saratoga this week, but wanted  to handicap on this exciting day, so let’s see how I do.

In race 12, The Grade 1 Haskell, Just Call Kenny (#5) ran great off a layoff and may be able to step up and run down the leaders on a track he likes and at a great price — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 7 and 8.

In race 4, One Golden Road (#4) gets back on preferred surface and has the back numbers to win this with a good trip — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 7 and 8.

In race 10, The Grade 2 Monmouth Cup, Easter Gift (#7) working great for excellent layoff trainer and should sit a perfect stalking trip and post a mild upset — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 2 and 3.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!
