A “Frosty” Reception At Belmont (6/15/14)

Jun 15th, 2014 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and good for the Father’s Day card — I’m in North Carolina celebrating with my daughter, so everything is perfect today!  Had a decent day yesterday with 3 winners on top including Compliance Officer in the feature, so I will try and keep up the momentum today!

In race 7, Frosty Bay (#4) needed last, has won here at this tricky distance and likes some give the turf – key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 7 and 10.

In race 6, Matching Skies (#7) goes for crafty claiming connections and may get a fast pace to set up late run at a decent price — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 1 and 4.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 9, 8 and 1

Race 2: 3, 2 and 1

Race 3: 4, 3 and 2

Race 4: 2, 9 and 1

Race 5: 5, 1 and 8

Race 6: 7 (Best Bet) with 1 and 4

Race 7: 4 (Best Bet) with 7 and 10

Race 8: 6, 7 and 8

Race 9:  1, 9 and 12

A “Tax” That Will Pay Off At Belmont (6/14/14)

Jun 14th, 2014 | By | Category: Today's Picks

Good and yielding for the Saturday card with races 2, 8 and 10 off the turf.  Had a great Belmont stakes day with 3 big prices on top, so I will try and keep the momentum going today!

In race 9, Compliance Officer (#1) goes second off the layoff and gets 7 furlongs and a soft course to make winning run today at 3-1.  Key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with 2B and 8.

In race 5, Noosh’s Tale (#1) loves a soft course and should get enough pace to set up late run — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 5 and 7.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 4 and 5

Race 2: 7 and 6

Race 3: 1 and 3

Race 4: 2, 6 and 3

Race 5: 1 (Best Bet) with 5 and 10

Race 6: 7, 3 and 1

Race 7: 6 and 1

Race 8:  1 and 8

Race 9: 1 (Best Bet) with 2B and 8

Race 10: 11, 8 and 2

Feeling Like A “Princess” At The Belmont Ball (6/7/14)

Jun 7th, 2014 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks, Triple Crown

Fast and firm for Belmont Stakes Day — this may be the greatest day of racing ever presented by a New York track  with 5 grade 1′s and a very competitive card!  Oh yeah — and California Chrome has a chance to become the first triple crown winner since 1978!  Whatever happens, this will be a day of racing for the ages and this handicapper is ready for the challenge.  On Friday’s card, I only had 2 winners on top, but one was a best bet and the other was the $20.60 winner of the Grade 2 True North which gave me a flat bet profit for the day, so while winners will be difficult to come up with today, I will do my best!

In race 7, The Grade 1 Ogden Phipps, Princess of Sylmar (#6) got smoked by Beholder (#5) in the Breeders Cup, but had no chance against a speed bias that day — if Friday’s fair track remains in play for the Belmont card, I’ll take the 8-5 second choice to run them down late in a race packed with speed.  This is the key to all your multi-race wagers and the best bet all day long!

In race 10, The Grade 1 Manhattan, Real Solution (#8) couldn’t get up in The ManOWar, but the pace will be much faster today and 1 1/4 miles will be exactly what the doctor ordered — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 5 and 6.

In race 13, In Trouble (#5) meets much easier and will love the cut back today — key in all late multi-race wagers and play an exacta box with #’s 14 and 4.

In race 11, The Grade 1 Belmont Stakes, California Chrome (#2) is the logical choice and the sentimental choice — should sit a perfect trip on or just off a slow pace and open up in the stretch.  However, it’s possible that Wicked Strong (#9) runs him down late and spoils the triple crown bid — as a bettor, I have to take 6-1 on Wicked Strong.  Play him up and down with #’s 2 and 11.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 2, 6 and 7

Race 2: 7, 1 and 4

Race 3: 8, 4 and 2

Race 4: 9, 10 and 11

Race 5: 5, 11 and 3

Race 6: 5, 7 and 3

Race 7: 6 (Best Bet) and 1

Race 8: 6, 10 and 9

Race 9: 9, 10 and 4

Race 10: 8 (Best Bet) with 5 and 6

Race 11: 9, 2 and 11

Race 12: 4, 1 and 12

Race 13: 5 (Best Bet) with 14 and 4

Wearing A “Blazer” At Belmont (6/6/14)

Jun 6th, 2014 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and good for the Friday card — one day before the big race and a chance for California Chrome to win the triple crown.  Let me just say that tomorrow’s card is the best handicapping card I have ever seen in New York…..ever!  Five grade 1′s in all and for all the complaining I did for the last several months over the quality of the cards in NY, this 13 race extravaganza may just wipe away all my frustrations and it’s definitely a day to celebrate!  Anyway, let’s see how I do today and remember to see if there are any track biases leading up to the bog day tomorrow!

In race 10, The Belmont Gold Cup Invitational, a 2 mile turf marathon, Sky Blazer (#2) has been crying out for more ground in last few starts and should get a ground-saving trip and a decent pace to set up late run — the price will be right to post an upset here.  Key in all late multi-race wagers and  play an exacta box with #’s 9 and 2.

In race 4, Queen Nine (#1) may be the controlling speed from the rail and can wire these if breaks cleanly — key in all doubles and pick 3′s and play an exacta box with #’s 8 and 9.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 4, 3 and 2

Race 2: 1 and 4

Race 3: 6 and 5

Race 4: 1 (Best Bet) with 8 and 9

Race 5: 1, 5 and 7

Race 6: 6 and 7

Race 7: 1, 10 and 8

Race 8: 5, 11 and 6

Race 9: 7, 8 and 4

Race 10: 2 (Best Bet) with 9 and 8
