“Sal” Makes The Cut At Belmont (5/7)

May 7th, 2011 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and firm at Belmont for the Saturday card — even though I will be concentrating on Churchill, we still have fans betting in NY.  I only had two winners on top yesterday, but still had a flat bet profit because they were both 4-1.  Let’s see how I do today.

In race 9, The Grade 3 Fort Marcy, Sal The Barber (#4) is as consistent as they come and returns off a brief freshening to take this at 3-1.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #6.

In race 6, The Grade 3 Beaugay, Daveron (#6) runs well fresh and has the back figures to take this — I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #3.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6 and 3

Race 2: 5, 8 and 1

Race 3: 6 and 1

Race 4: 2 and 9

Race 5: 7 and 3

Race 6: 6 (Best Bet) and 3

Race 7: 4, 11 and 2

Race 8: 5 and 7

Race 9: 4 (Best Bet) and 6

Race 10: 8 and 6

“Chamberlain” Won’t Wilt On Derby Day At Churchill (5/7)

May 7th, 2011 | By | Category: Churchill, Today's Picks

Fast and firm for Kentucky Derby Day, but there are showers and thunderstorms in the forecast so check back later in the card if I post some last minute changes based on track conditions.  For now, I’m picking with mostly dry conditions in mind.

Had a great day yesterday with 5 winners on top, including my two best bets and had a great $3.45 ROI. Today’s card, including the Derby, is a killer so you may have to spread around in multi-race wagers, but maybe it’s best to concentrate on individual races.

In race 6, The Grade 3 Turf Sprint, Chamberlain Bridge (#5) is a terror on this track and gets a very fast pace to set up late kick — might be a single in multi-race wagers and I’m also playing an exacta box with #8.

In race 7, The Grade 1 Humana Distaff, Hilda’s Passion (#7) might be the best best all day at a short price  — I’m singling in all multi-race wagers and playing an exacta box with #4.

In race 9, the Grade 2 Churchill Downs, Here Comes Ben (#12) was favored in BC mile when last seen — is working bullets for return and loves the local strip.  I’m keying in all multi-race wagers, playing across the board and playing an exacta box with #’s 6 and 2.

In race 11, The Grade 1 Kentucky Derby, Dialed In (#8) gets a great pace set-up and has Zito in his corner — will need some racing luck even from a great post, but is the key to all your bets.  I’m playing up and down in exactas with #’s 15, 12. 19 and 1, plus playing a triple and superfecta key with those numbers.  Both Midnight Interlude (#15) and Santiva (#12) are live longshots for all the money if you want to take some fliers. Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 5 and 6

Race 2: 4 and 2

Race 3: 4 and 2

Race 4: 7 and 8

Race 5: 4 and 6

Race 6: 5 (Best Bet) and 8

Race 9: 12 (Best Bet) with 6 and 2

Race 10: 4, 7 and 3

Race 11: 8 with 15, 12, 19 and 1
