Dealing With A Two-Year-Old Horror Show At Belmont & Churchill (10/31)

Oct 31st, 2010 | By | Category: Belmont, Churchill, Today's Picks

Fast and firm at both Belmont & Churchill and it’s a handicapping nightmare right on time for Halloween.  Both tracks will feature all 2-year-old races — so cue the scary music and start screaming for your life because trying to pick winners in these cards is like trying to stay away from candy on October 31.  Plus, I had such a great day at Belmont & Keeneland on Saturday (I went 7 for 20 with a flat bet profit and hit 3 of my 4 Best Bets with a $3.50 ROI) that I wanted to get on a roll leading into Breeders Cup next Friday & Saturday.  Oh well, here are my picks for both tracks with no best bets and some advice to stick with the Jet game today! See you all on Friday for The Breeders Cup and have a great Halloween!

Say “Boo” On Halloween Weekend At Belmont (10/30)

Oct 30th, 2010 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and firm at Belmont for the pre-Halloween card and I’m going to make some scary choices today.  In race 10, Bobity Boo (#1) is more than just a hunch bet with good speed stretching out to a mile on turf.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #’s 5 and 6.

In race 8, Mordecai Jones (#7) can stay close to a moderate pace and hold on late — gets Dominguez for winning run. I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #’s 11 and 2.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 12 with 4 and 6

Race 2: 3, 4 and 6

Race 3: 12, 11 and 2

Race 4: 9 and 6

Race 5: 12, 3 and 9

Race 6: 9 and 1

Race 7: 12 with 2 and 8

Race 8: 7 (Best Bet) with 11 and 2

Race 9: 5 and 2

Race 10: 1 (Best Bet) with 5 and 6

“Jazz” It Up At Keeneland (10/30)

Oct 30th, 2010 | By | Category: Keeneland, Today's Picks

Closing day at Keeneland has another competitive and difficult card — have been listing lots of winners, but have not had enough of them on top.  I will try to have a better day today!

In race 5, Jazz Life (#2) is lightly raced and may enjoy the move to 7 furlongs — I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #’s 10 and 9.

In race 9, The Grade 2 Fayette, Successful Dan (#3) gets a break with some speed horses scratched to his inside and outside — should wire these off last.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #1.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 10 and 4

Race 2: 5 and 3

Race 3: 2 and 1

Race 4: 7 and 1

Race 5: 2 (Best Bet) with 9 and 10

Race 6: 8 and 7

Race 7: 5 with 3 and 2

Race 8: 2 with 4 and 1

Race 9: 3 (Best Bet) and 1

Race 10: 2 and 5

“Lady” Gaga At Belmont (10/24)

Oct 24th, 2010 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and firm at Belmont with a decent card on tap.  I would like to apologize for Saturday — only listed two winners, one on top, and my best bets ran like my buddy Marty bets football.  Can’t do any worse today so the only way from here is up!

In race 7, Lady Rizzi (#5) should wire these for fun in turf sprint — take 2-1 if you can get it!  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #1.

In race 5, East of Danzig (#4) is lightly raced and both turf tries were good — should beat these from an inside post.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #8.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 2 and 5

Race 2: 7 and 4

Race 3: 2 and 3

Race 4: 6 and 1

Race 5: 4 (Best Bet) and 8

Race 6: 6 and 2

Race 7: 5 (Best Bet) and 1

Race 8: 4 and 1

Race 9: 11, 10 and 8

Race 10: 5 and 6
