Predicting A “McVictory” At Belmont (9/26)

Sep 26th, 2010 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and firm at Belmont on the Sunday card — almost an identical one to Saturday with lots of uncertainty and bad races to handicap.  Only went 2 for 10 yesterday, but ended up with a flat bet profit when a 5-1 shot won the last race — gives me some hope for today.

In race 9, The Nellie Bly, McVictory (#7) should get a great stalking trip and has the best figures — no excuse today in the 8-5 range for Pletcher.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #4.

In race 7, Targhee Pass (#8) goes back to a turf sprint and has run well on the local turf course — I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #’s 10 and 6.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 5 and 3

Race 2: 6, 7 and 5

Race 3: 2 and 6

Race 4: 3 and 9

Race 5: 6 and 5

Race 6: 3 with 6 and 4

Race 7: 8 (Best Bet) with 10 and 6

Race 8: 1A, 11 and 12

Race 9: 7 (Best Bet) and 4

Race 10: 5, 6 and 11

Squeezing Some “Lemons” At Belmont (9/25)

Sep 25th, 2010 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and firm at Belmont with a tough card to handicap to start the weekend.  It would be nice to see some really great cards, especially on Saturdays, but the last few weeks have been brutal.  Oh well — let’s have a go at it and see what happens.

In race 6, Lemon Spice (#5) has been facing tougher and should sit a good trip just off the pace and get up in time at 2-1.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #’s2 and 3.

In race 7, Shimmering Forest (#3) has the best figures in here and gets a much better post today — I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #’s 9 and 4. Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 2 and 7

Race 2: 6 and 9

Race 3: 6 and 7

Race 4: 5 and 7

Race 5: 7, 3 and 5

Race 6: 5 (Best Bet) with 2 and 3

Race 7: 3 (Best Bet) with 9 and 4

Race 8: 4 with 3 and 6

Race 9: 2 and 8

Race 10: 7 and 9

“Quietly” Picking Winners At Belmont (9/19)

Sep 19th, 2010 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and good at Belmont for the Sunday card — had a great streak yesterday where I listed the winners of the last 8 races in a row with 3 winners on top, plus the late pick 4 and pick 6.  Hoping to keep the momentum going today, but the card is uninspiring!

In race 9, The Grade 3 Noble Damsel, Quiet Meadow (#4) has good tactical speed, has been facing better and has raced well on non-firm turf — I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with Scolara (#6).

In race 10, Scorper (#7) can stalk a quick pace and run down the leaders at 5-2 or better — I’m keying in the late double and pick 3 and playing an exacta box with Recharged (#6).  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 7 and 4

Race 2: 4, 8 and 2

Race 3: 2 and 6

Race 4: 1 and 5

Race 5: 4, 8 and 2

Race 6: 6 and 7

Race 7: 3, 4 and 9

Race 8: 1 and 6

Race 9: 4 (Best Bet) and 6

Race 10: 7 (Best Bet) and 6

Hopefully “Banned” At Belmont (9/18)

Sep 18th, 2010 | By | Category: Belmont, Today's Picks

Fast and yielding at Belmont with race 6 off the turf — trying to atone for my sins while picking a few winners on a card that is very difficult to handicap.

In race 3, Banned (#6) showed good speed in debut on main track at Saratoga, goes for a clever turf barn and could lead these all the way.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3′s and playing an exacta box with #’s 5 and 4.

In race 1, Cravin Caden (#6) comes off a good maiden score at Saratoga and goes for a very crafty barn who has good stats with repeaters and gets a decent pace to run at — I’m keying in the early double and pick 3 and playing an exacta box with #3.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6 (Best Bet) and 3

Race 2: 7 and 8

Race 3: 6 (Best Bet) with 5 and 4

Race 4: 7 with 4 and 2

Race 5: 5, 9 and 4

Race 6: 6, 12 and 3

Race 7: 9 and 8

Race 8: 7 with 6 and 3

Race 9: 7 and 1

Race 10: 9 and 8
