Something Worth “Reading” At Aqueduct (12/6)
Dec 6th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Today’s PicksA drying out track at Aqueduct on Sunday (currently rated good). A decent day yesterday with two winners and a flat bet profit of $1.20 — even with my two best bets just getting beat at the wire. Oh well, a pretty competitive card today so here goes!
In race 7, The Damon Runyan, Reading Group (#6) should appreciate the switch to two turns and more distance — he may be the one in a tough group of statebreds. I’ll box him in exactas with Golly Day (#8) and City Trooper (#5) and use in doubles and pick 3’s.
In race 5, Victory March (#8) ran well in only dirt start, gets a good pace to run into at 1 mile and 70 yards. I’m playing an exacta box with The Mayor (#2) and using in doubles and pick 3’s. Here’s the entire card and good luck!
Race 1: 4 and 5
Race 2: 5 and 3
Race 3: 6 and 2
Race 4: 5 and 9
Race 5: 8 (Best Bet) and 2
Race 6: 6, 9 and 11
Race 7: 6 (Best Bet) with 8 and 5
Race 8: 9, 10 and 2
Race 9: 9, 3 and 6
Sir,
Do we box your exacta’s or play win bets on your top picks. You can’t use one system one day and change it to another wagering system the next day. In order to truly measure one’s “system” it should be written out indetail and then measured. I’m not trying to be a thorn in your side, but I really would love to see your “stats” based on one standard wagering system. Please let us bettor’s know the nest way to measure your “under” performances.
Happy Holidays!
The winner of the Saratoga challenge!
Hey Brian, hope you are well and happy holidays. Since today’s card is competitive, why not try the $5 exacta box on all my races with 3 horses, and $2 rolling doubles and pick 3’s and see how you do. As far as my stats, this system provided a winning return at Saratoga and is my new measure for cards that are competitive. Win bets on my best bets have been a lousy play, so maybe they should all be throwouts until I do better.
At Churchill and Keeneland, I had great results on the win bets for those days I handicapped on the site. I’ll send you a spreadsheet. Can’t wait for a rematch at the Spa — have a few ideas. Maybe you can do a pick 3 and pick 4 bet and we can post your spot bet on my site since you did so well last year!
So how did the system work? Not bad since I went 0 for 9 on the win end.
