Not A “Fringe” Player At Keeneland (10/18)

Oct 18th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Keeneland, Today’s Picks

Fast and yielding at Keeneland where full fields and great challenges await all handicappers!  In race 5, Radical Fringe (#3) is second off the layoff and has the right stalking style to run down the speed at 6 furlongs. I’m keying in doubles and pick 3’s and playing an exacta box with Cya Later Bert (#2) and My Best Pal Red (#7).

In race 6, a 1 1/2 mile marathonon turf, Shake The Moon (#7) towers over these on paper and should win as the favorite.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3’s.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6 and 5

Race 2: 3 and 5

Race 3: 3 and 6

Race 4: 5, 7 and 2

Race 5: 3 (Best Bet) with 2 and 7

Race 6: 7 Best Bet) with 8 and 1

Race 7: 5 and 4

Race 8: 4 and 8

Race 9: 9, 10 and 4

Reaching For The “Stars” At Belmont (10/18)

Oct 18th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Belmont, Today’s Picks

Sloppy and off the turf again at Belmont.  In race 8, an “off the turf” event at 1 1/16 miles, Starship Angel (#8) handles the wet going and is the only one in the field who can get the distance — I’m keying in doubles and pick 3’s.

In race 2, James Wilfred (#6) can capitalize on a fast pace and get up to post the upset.  I’m keying in all doubles and pick 3’s and playing an exacta box with Unwritten (#3).  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 3 and 4

Race 2: 6 (Best Bet) and 3

Race 3: 4 and 6

Race 4: 3 and 6

Race 5: 3 and 5

Race 6: 13 and 9

Race 7: 6 and 1

Race 8: 8 (Best Bet) and 4

Race 9: 7 and 4

Race 10: 10 and 1A

6 Winners Listed At Both Belmont & Keeneland (10/17)

Oct 18th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Belmont, Keeneland, Today’s Picks

Started with a real bang at Keeneland in the first 3 races.  Had a $69.60 exacta box in race 1, had the winner in race 2 with a $94.40 double and had the exacta box in race 3 for $257.50!  Also had the triple box for $872.60 and the pick 3 paid $3814.80.  Ended up listed 6 winnners, 3 on top, and almost had a flat bet profit for the third consecutive day.  If only my horses in races 6 and 8 won instead of running second, it would have been an incredible day, but I’m not complaining.

At Belmont, it was a terrible card with all the scratches and wet track.  Managed to have 3 winners (listed 6), and had consecutive doubles and pick 3’s in races 4-7.  But the prices were small and missed the pick 6 when I didn’t list the winner in race 8.  Oh well, back on Sunday!
