Day 32 At Saratoga — Can A Tough Card Be A “Pleasure” (9/3)

Sep 3rd, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Saratoga, Today’s Picks

Fast and firm again at beautiful Saratoga.  It is a very tough handicapping card, so I’m listing 3 horses in almost every race.  But remember to stick with the plan and let’s see if we can make it a profitable day.

In race 4, a 1 1/8 mile route featuring many stakes quality horses, Dr. Pleasure (#5) can rate close to a fast pace and wear down the leaders in the stretch.  I’m playing him in an exacta box with Giant Chieftan (#4) and using both in doubles and pick 3’s.

In race 6, Merriwether Jessica (#3) stretches out to a mile on the turf after sprinting against better — she can win for Linda Rice, the hottest trainer on the planet.  I’m boxing her with Kiawah Cat (#6) and Forest Trail (#5) and playing in my doubles and pick 3’s.  Here’s the card except for the jump race (#1), so my picks start with race 2.  Good luck!

Race 2: 1, 5 and 2

Race 3: 2, 3 and 8

Race 4: 5 (Best Bet) and 4

Race 5: 6, 1 and 10

Race 6: 3 (Best Bet) with 6 and 5

Race 7: 4, 10 and 8

Race 8: 8 with 7 and 1

Race 9: 8 with 2 and 6

Race 10: 5 with 9 and 8
