Day 15 Recap At Saratoga — Feeling A Little Like “Sybil” (8/14)

From day to day, moment to moment, the life of a handicapper changes dramatically.  Some days, you can never be sure who is going to show up.  Today, I was a man of many personalities.  Brilliant handicapper one minute (race 4 $187.50 exacta box, races 6-8 – $117 pick 3), handicapping buffoon the next(race 8 Best Bet). In any event, I ended up listing 5 winners, 2 on top, and had a flat bet profit of $8.90. I’ll take it!

The track also has many personalities.  One day speed favoring, the next favoring closers.  My thought was as the rain stayed away and things were bone dry, the speed was better on both dirt and turf.  It worked for a few days and then today, the closers were winning.  I guess the only thing you can be sure of is not to be sure of anything!  I do know that Sally Field is a great actress — I just don’t want her showing up in my head!
