Another amazing card at The Spa on a fast and firm day in upstate NY.  In all the years I have been betting Saratoga, this meet has had the best betting cards that I can remember. So, spread your tickets and remember again that speed seems to be very good on the turf courses and even on the main track — so bet accordingly.

In race 8, The Hall of Fame, a grade 2 stakes race at 1 1/8 on the turf, Straight Story (#1) may control the pace from his inside post and wire the field.  I’m keying him in exactas with Courageous Cat (#8) and Lime Rickey (#3) and using in doubles and pick 3’s.

In race 4, a paceless maiden race on the turf, I’m throwing out the favorite, Morethan Fourhours (#1), who may close too late to be a factor.  I’m playing Last Noble (#4), Itch (#8) and Royal Lord (#5) on top in doubles and pick 3’s — all decent prices.
