Day 20 At Saratoga — Feeling A Little “Zip” In My Step (8/20)

Aug 20th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Saratoga, Today’s Picks

Fast and firm at Saratoga today.  Not really feeling the card today so play accordingly.  As usual, I will be skipping the jump race in the first, so the picks will start from race 2.

In race 9, The Saratoga Special, Zip Quik (#3) is the closer in a race jammed with early speed.  Trained by Patrick Biancone, a master with 2 year olds, he is the pick if he can transfer his synthetic form to traditional dirt.  I’m playing an exacta box with D’Funnybone (#6) and using both in doubles and pick 3’s.

In race 6, Dukinfield (#6), has turf experience around two turns in a mile turf race dominated by stretchout sprinters — he’s my pick to win at a decent price.  I’m boxing in exactas with Chromosphere(#9) and Whirling Thunder (#1) and using in doubles and pick 3’s.  Here’s the card starting with race 2 and good luck!

Race 2: 1A and 5

Race 3: 2 and 1

Race 4: 5 with 2 and 8

Race 5: 2 and 7

Race 6: 6 (Best Bet) with 9 and 1

Race 7: 3 with 1A and 5

Race 8: 2 with 5 and 1

Race 9: 3 (Best Bet) and 6

Race 10: 9 with 7 and 8

Day 19 Recap At Saratoga — DQ Means “Don’t Quit” (8/19)

Aug 20th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Saratoga, Today’s Picks

Had a rough day at The Spa on Thursday, starting with a disqualification of the winner in race 2 which cost me listing a nice double.  I ended up with no winners on top and only listed two for the day.  However, in race 5, my best bet ran second and my other choices ran 1st and third for a $62 exacta box and a $310 triple box.  If you’ve been following my stats, you know the exacta box when I list three horses has been very profitable during the meet and you made money yesterday if you were playing that angle.  I’ll try and list more winners today and I won’t quit trying!
