Day 14 Recap At Saratoga – A Lesson In Humility (8/13)
Aug 13th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Saratoga, Today’s PicksTwo weeks into the Saratoga meet and I’ve felt every emotion you can feel. I’ve gone from complete humiliation to exhilaration, to fatigue and nausea, to satisfaction and heartbreak. But through it all I’ve learned that handicapping is never anything you take for granted — and you shouldn’t get cocky when things are going well.
Since Wednesday’s great run, I’ve gone 0 for 12. So, all that bravado about teaching the dragon a thing or two is all a bunch of bull. At least I had a good exacta and triple box in race 9 and my best bet in race 10 ran second so if you keyed, you hit a good number in the exacta. All that means is I’m ready to go for Friday’s card — feeling relief that I have so many more chances to reward my fellow handicappers with quality picks the rest of the way!
