“Driven” To The Late Pick 4 At Belmont (7/5)

Jul 5th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Belmont, Today’s Picks

Fast and good today at Belmont.  Trying to redeem myself for yesterday so let’s try and hit the late pick 4 with a minimum investment.  In race 10, The Tom Fool, Driven By Success (#5) will be the main speed with the scratch of Fabulous Strike.  In race 8, Bold Vindication (#5) looks great on paper and can handle a little give in the ground.  I will key those two with three horses in race 7 (#’s 10, 8 & 11) and two horses in race 10 (#’s 4 and 3) for a $12 investment in the late pick 4.  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 1A (Best Bet) and 8

Race 2: 4 with 8 and 1

Race 3: 6 and 3

Race 4: 6 with 2 and 1

Race 5: 1 and 3

Race 6: 8 and 2

Race 7: 10 with 8 and 11

Race 8: 4 (Best Bet)

Race 9: 5 (Best Bet)

Race 10: 4 and 3

Make Winning A “Custom” At Monmouth(7/5)

Jul 5th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Monmouth, Today’s Picks

Fast and firm at Monmouth on a beautiful day in NJ!  In race 9, The Jersey Shore, Custom For Carlos (#3) should sit a perfect trip behind Happy Bull (#1) and Snapshot (#5) and find his way to the winners circle.  I’m singling him in all doubles and pick 3’s!  In race 7, trainer Russell Cash, who is 0 for 35 at the meet, saddles Adduce (#5) in this 6 furlong dash for statebreds.   Looks like the class of the field and I’m singling him in all doubles and pick 3’s and making an exacta box with Deep Run Doon (#2).  Here’s the entire card and good luck!

Race 1: 6 and 2

Race 2: 3 and 9

Race 3: 4 and 6

Race 4: 1 and 4

Race 5: 4 and 3

Race 6: 4

Race 7: 5 (Best Bet) and 2

Race 8: 7 and 5

Race 9: 4 (Best Bet)

Race 10: 6 with 1 and 3

It Was The Best Of Times At Churchill…It Was The Worst Of Times At Belmont (7/4)

Jul 5th, 2009 | By mircon1 | Category: Belmont, Churchill

Yes — it was a tale of two handicappers on July 4th.  The one at Churchill made the rockets red glare and the one at Belmont was very unpatriotic to his followers.  I hope you bet Churchill!  Here’s the summary:

Churchill: Listed 8 winners, 6 on top, including a $15 winner in race 1 and a $18 winner in race 9!  Had a cold $85 double in races 1 and 2, 3 cold exactas in races 4, 9 and 11, plus listed the pick 3 in races 9-11.  Last but not least, a flat bet profit of $31.60! Not even my best bet losing in race 5 could dampen the celebration!

Belmont: Reality set in when I couldn’t navigate the main track bias.  Speed was great again on Saturday and closers couldn’t make up ground except to complete the number.  Did much better on turf.  Had a $14 horse on top in race 11 and listed a $20 horse in race 7.  Only listed 3 winners all day, but did have a cold exacta box in race 5.  Not nearly good enough but today is another day.  Watch for my picks at 12:30pm today!
