A pretty dull card at Belmont today with a soft turf course and races 7 and 10 taken off the turf.  But let’s make it a holiday anyway!  In race 6, Banking Holiday (#7) can stay close enough to probable pace setter Trophy Road (#6) and run down the leader in the stretch.  I’m keying him in in doubles and pick 3′s.  Here’s the whole card  — good luck!

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Einstein (#3) is absolutlely the horse to beat in today’s Stephen Foster (Race 10) at Churchill Downs.  This 7-year old son of Spend A Buck fires every time, on all different types of tracks and against the best competition in the land!  So, why am I trying to beat him?  Well, traditional dirt may be his least favorite surface and the price will be short, so I’m flexing my handicapping muscles and will pick Macho Again (#2) to upset the field.  This late-running son of Macho Uno loves Churchill Downs and will get a good pace to run at thanks to the speedy Finallymadeit (#8).  I’m keying him up and down with those two horses and keying him in doubles and pick 3′s.
